Warning! Virus Targets Simmers - 30th March 09 

There have been reports that a virus is out to get The Sims 3 community! Links named "The Sims 3 Demo" have been posted in various forums and on Facebook pages to try and get fans to download a playable demo. Please be aware that this is NOT a demo for the game and if you come across this link, do NOT click it!

Be careful of any emails from unknown senders (as you should do anyway) regarding The Sims 3 and do NOT download any attatchments of .zip or .exe.

Let There Be Sims - 29th March 09

EA have stayed true to their word recently by advertising The Sims 3 to the public. Peter Medina or TheSigDog as some of you may know him by, discovered this billboard and posted about it on his Twitter page.

Come On Get Happy - 26th March 09

Fans out there are going to be happy to hear that DRM is not going to be included in The Sims 3. Ben Bell made a statement on the Official Website saying that the game will use the same concept from The Sims 2, with a code to type in, which means no online activation. Read more here: DRM

New Preview - 26th March 09

Gamespot have had a hands-on session with The Sims 3 recently and they have posted a nice preview about it. They talk about who their Sim is and what they planned to do with him. It's a very entertaining read: Gamespot Hands-On

"Fortunately, it was a lovely day, so there were plenty of folks taking in the sun. We zeroed in on the absolute best targets of opportunity (the closest ones) and began working our charms, chatting about interests to find that our first would-be friend and sponsor was also an artsy person who liked music."

One Tree Hill Clips - 25th March 09

Large Update - 24th March 09

I apologise for the lack of updates recently but I have put together all the news from the last few days.

We're almost done, but next we have the system requirements for the MAC version of the game. They are as follows:

MAC OS: MAC OS X 10.5.7 Leopard or Higher

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo

Memory: 2GB

HDD: 6.1GB (with an additional 1GB for Custom Content)

Video Card: ATI X1600 or Nvidia 7300 GT with 128 MB of RAM

New OTH/TS3 Video & iPhone News - 18th March 09

An unusual video of The Sims 3 has been posted on Youtube today. It is actually a trailer from the American television network CW, promoting one of their shows, One Tree Hill. Yet for some unexplained reason, it has been filmed with The Sims 3.

 

 

Also, the first news and pictures have appeared of The Sims 3 for the apple iPhone. Unique features include the ability to add your own custom music and buy new content from the Apple App Store.

 New Articles - 15th March 09

TVG have posted an article about The Sims 3 where they talk about various features of the game such as modding, improvements over The Sims 2 and relationships.

UK Fan Event & New Preview - 14th March 09

EA UK are giving a selected few Fansites the opportunity to get their hands on The Sims 3 this month. It is unclear where this event will take place, and who has been invited. But we'll be sure to keep you updated.

Week 6 Update - 12th March 09

The Official Website for The Sims 3 updated today with information from the sixth week of the Creator's Camp (Which was held in January). Hatshepsut & Estatica are showcased this week.

CVG recently had the chance to speak to Associate Producer, MJ Chun about the risks involved with moving The Sims into an open environment:

"I think some people are going to find that it's too much and that they want that level of control back, and that some people are going to be disappointed and want more."
