New French Video - 30th January 09

Episode Six of the French episodes as they visit the EA Studios. The voice over is French however we get shown some gameplay footage that looks amazing.

Update - New Blog - 29th January 09

The Sims 3 Official Website updated today with a new Blog from Designer, Eric Holmberg-Weidler. He talks about a new feature we haven't previously been told about before, collecting.

Presentation Video - 27th January 09

SimManiacos have uploaded a video from a Presentation that was held in Poland. It shows many different clips of people arriving, MJ Chun giving a presentation and various people playing the game.

EA "Evaluating" Release - 26th January 09

EuroGamer have had word from EA that they thinking twice about the release date for The Sims 3. EuroGamer had this to say:

"Electronic Arts has said it is "evaluating the launch window"

"We wouldn't bank on being able to play it on 20th February."

There is talk of EA posting a press release on February 3rd to announce a new date.

Delay Mania - 25th January 09

Rumours have been spreading like wildfire across the Internet this past week, talking about The Sims 3 being delayed until March, June or even August.

This all started when Parsimonious posted that the game would not be released on the 20th Feb. Since then, mad panic has hit forums everywhere. However, now it seems it may be becoming a reality.

SnootySims has posted this convincing evidence:

- The official releasedate is removed from both the official Sims 3 site and several EA sites (EA UK).
- There is still no official cover for the game despite it should almost go to the presses.
- Someone from the BBS who pre-ordered got a releasedate of June 18! Sims BBS
- French Amazon give a releasedate of February 26 (though a delay of just a week is not unusual considering shipping times).
- Many Australian stores give a releasedate of March 26: DStore

Please keep in mind that there has been no Official word from EA at all. Although there are rumours that they may announce this delay on the 3rd Feb.

New Screenshots - 22nd January 09

Four screenshots of various content made by those who attended the Creator's Camp at EA last week. This shows a good example of the kind of freedom we will be given in this game when it comes to building and creating Sims.

Also, Sims2Fans have posted the second part of their video interview with Associate Producer, Mary Jean Chun, they quickly take at look at the screen with the game running too.

Welcome President Obama - 20th January 09

Barack Obama has taken his oath of office to become the first black US President.

Congratulations to him and America. 

Elsewhere, Will Wright will be celebrating his Birthday today. A very Happy Birthday to you Mr. Wright, and thank you for creating this simulated world we all have grown to love!

Screens, Videos & More - 19th January 09

Sorry for the lack of updates recently, but I have been away this past weekend with no Internet access whatsoever! Which is why it's typical that we get a flood of news in those 3 days I was away.

First let's start with IGN's new preview of The Sims 3. They have had another chance to play the game (first time since last March) and give their opinons on it, all good thankfully. Along with that came three new screenshots and a video interview with Ben Bell.

Next up we have another preview from German fansite GamesWelt (Although not English), as well as three new screenshots.

The Official Website for The Sims 3 has updated today with a brand new blog. This time it's from Andrea Wendland, the Community Team Manager. 

She talks about the Creator's Camp and how everyone is enjoying the game.

Creator's Camp Day 3 - 15th January 09

Information from The Sims 3 Creator's Camp is still coming in by the truck load!

Let's start with The Sims Resource. They've posted three new blogs, one all about Sunset Valley, the other about gardening and the last one about the new party planner. Read them all - TSR

Lastly, SimPost have uploaded another video on their Youtube Channel. It mainly shows what they're up to over there and who they've met - SimPost Drop 3

Infinite Sims Bang Camaro Interview - 14th January 09

Infinite Sims had the chance to interview a band that was lucky enough to have one of their songs added into The Sims 3, Bang Camaro.

ESRB Synopsis, Preview & More Creator's Camp Info - 14th January 09

The Sims 3 has finally been rated as T for teen by ESRB. This however, is obviously for North America and will be slightly different for Europe. They give a detailed synopsis of the game on their website, although it has a striking resemblance to their description of The Sims 2, mainly because they only need to state what is in the game that caused the rating. Now onto the Creator's Camp. Where to start...

First of all, SimPost have uploaded a video of their arrival at the EA HQ. It's in Brazilian, however they do provide English sub-titles. Watch that here - SimPost Video

The Sims Resource CC Blog: Day 2 - 13th January 09

Steve from The Sims Resource has posted another blog for day two of The Sims 3 Creator's Camp at EA.

He mentions some more new and interesting features:

- If you place a stairway internally between floors it will take the guise of an internal stairway, and will even box in the area below it with walls and finish it with the décor you already have in the room!

Creator's Camp: Day One - 12th January 09

A few of the fansites that are attending The Sims 3 Creator's Camp have posted their first blogs.

First up is TheSidDog: Creator's Camp Day 1

They mention some interesting facts such as:

- You can set lifespans to range from 25–1,000 days.

- Sims don’t need ladders to get in or out of the pool.

- There’s a “Create-a-Twin” tool in CAS that lets you make an identical twin of whatever Sim you apply it to.

Then we have EdenStyle: Creator's Camp Day 1

Some more interesting facts:

- Toddlers can now visit the city, but have to be accompanied by an adult, whereas children can roam freely.

- Work buildings can be re-located.

Creator's Camp TSR Blog - 12th January 09

The Sims 3 Creator's Camp starts today and we'll be expecting info throughout the week. This is where EA gives a selected few the chance to create content for the game such as Objects, Sims & Houses.

So far Steve from The Sims Resource has posted his first blog where he mentions what is planned for the day ahead.
A variety of Fansites will be attending and producing similar information, so don't miss a thing and check back everyday for something new!

Release Date, Make Up Your Mind Already! - 9th January 09

Amazon UK and GAME changed the release date for The Sims 3 to March 27th 2009 for a short time. A lot of fans that had pre-ordered from these stores were left mistified as they received emails imforming them of the change. Luckily, both sites are now showing 20th Febuary 2009 again. Let's hope this was an error and not a sign of things to come. Only EA can call the shots on this one.

The Sims 3 Keeping It's Promise - 5th January 09

MightyApe have had word from EA that The Sims 3 is on track for release on February 20th! This is good news, however, this doesn't stop it being delayed at any time. Hopefully it shouldn't be!

The Sims 3 News Center has changed hosting service recently and you may notice a few changes as well as some minor glitches or bugs. Don't worry though, we are working to sort them out as soon as possible.

Did You Know?
