Back in 2003, the idea of creating a fansite had been in the back of my mind for quite some time. More and more news and information was starting to pour out about The Sims 2 and I was itching to be apart of it. I started out small, using free website builders and implementing some very questionable designs. But I wasn't getting anywhere fast, and I needed to establish myself within The Sims Community with a proper website.
The Summer of 2004 was then spent learning the basics of html and after many, many trial and error attempts, The Sims 2 News Center was Officially open. I was very proud of myself and made sure it had a constant flow of news and updates along with screenshots and videos. The site lasted until 2005 when unfortuantly, my hosting account was hacked. I lost the fansite I had been working on for almost a year, and everything that went with it. The idea of starting from scratch was just too much and I decided to let the site rest in peace.
Then, in 2008, a small teaser website for the next title, The Sims 3, had appeared. This was extremely exciting and I was determined to get back into the fansite community!
First of all, I got together with a good friend of mine, Chris (Owner of The Sims Hub), and started throwing around ideas about a possible new fansite we could create together. We both worked very hard (him more than me) and managed to construct a very early version of The Sims Hub. However, after much consideration, we decided to go our seperate ways. Chris stayed on with his original idea and I thought that I would finally bring The Sims 2 News Center back to life.
In August 2008, The Sims 2 News Center had been resurrected and renamed The Sims 3 News Center! I started right back at the beginning and built the site back up piece by piece. This time, it was slightly bigger with more content and looked considerabley more professional. I was also more dedicated and never missed an update regarding The Sims 3. Even though I had the mammoth task of switching hosts in December 2008, the site never went down.
Then in April 2009, I gave everything a completely new design and look, and The Sims 3 News Center was back and bigger than ever!
